Engineers cabling network equipment in a server room

Most office network problems — dead spots in the Wi-Fi, slow file transfers, a printer that keeps disappearing — come from equipment that was never designed as a system. We start with the floor plan, the number of users and devices, and what runs over the network: voice, video calls, CCTV or a cloud ERP. That decides how many access points are needed and where, which switches need PoE to power them, and where a firewall should sit.

We supply managed and unmanaged switches and routers, business Wi-Fi systems that roam seamlessly across a floor, next-generation firewalls, and the cabling, racks and accessories that hold it all together. Equipment is chosen to fit the budget, from TP-Link Omada and Ubiquiti UniFi to Cisco and Aruba for larger sites.

Our technicians cable and terminate the points, mount the access points, configure VLANs, guest Wi-Fi and the firewall rules, and document the result so your network can be supported later.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers from the Colion International sales desk.

How many Wi-Fi access points does an office need?

As a rule of thumb, Colion International plans one business access point for every 150–250 square metres of open office, or every 25–30 active users, adjusted for walls and glass. A site survey gives the exact number and positions.

What is a PoE switch and do I need one?

A PoE (Power over Ethernet) switch powers devices such as Wi-Fi access points, IP phones and CCTV cameras through the network cable, so they need no separate power socket. If you are installing any of those, Colion International recommends a PoE switch.

Do you supply and install firewalls?

Yes. Colion International supplies Fortinet, Cisco and other business firewalls, and configures them with secure remote access, web filtering and the rules your office needs, as part of a network installation or on their own.
